Not just seeing the glacier, but setting foot on it: in this experience the helicopter lands on one of the officially designated mountain landing sites in the eternal ice, and you step out, in the middle of a world of snow, firn and silence that remains wintry even in high summer. The moment when the rotors stop and only the mountains can be heard is one of the most striking experiences the Swiss Alps can offer from the air.
Important for planning: glacier landings take place exclusively on authorised mountain landing sites and are weather-dependent. The pilot decides alone and may cancel the landing at short notice for safety reasons, for example due to wind or temperature. Closed, sturdy footwear and windproof clothing are mandatory; the ground is rocky, icy or snow-covered.
